THE ZONE DIET AND THE JENNY CRAIG WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM-DIET PLANS YOU JUST CANT AFFORD

The Zone was developed by Barry Sears. It is based on the principle that a diet should contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats in the ratio 40:30:30. This means that carbohydrates should account for 40% of your dietary intake whereas proteins and fats should comprise 30% each. You can find detailed menu plans and other facts on this die in a book called “Enter the Zone”.
According to this diet plan, a person should consume nutrients in the 40/30/30 ratio. Such a meal is called a zone favorable meal. The Zone diet functions on the theory that when one consumes a zone favorable meal, insulin levels are stabilized. As we know, high insulin levels triggered by excess sugars are responsible for fat accumulation. When insulin levels stabilize, there will be less fat accumulation and weight loss will be enhanced.
The problem with the Zone diet is that one must follow this plan meticulously to see any results. In today’s hurried world, most people do not have time to sit down and calculate the carbohydrate, fat and protein rations in their meals and plan their menu accordingly. To add to the hype, the creators of this diet have introduced several zone diet friendly products into the market. You can find Zone bars, Zone shakes and other such products. These Zone favorable foods cost more than an average meal.
We do not recommend the Zone diet plan for the very reasons mentioned above. It is impractical and very expensive.
Another weight loss program is the Jenny Craig program. This is a relatively simple program formulated along very basic principles. The idea is to eat fewer calories and exercise more so that you lose weight.
There are several Jenny Craig weight loss centers all over the world. You can find one near to you and meet with nutrition consultants who can advice you of a diet plan either directly or over the phone. You also will be assigned a weight loss expert to keep you motivated. This may sound helpful but they will only recommend that you buy Jenny Craig抯 pre-packaged meals every week. They are nothing special, just a low calorie version of an ordinary meal. You can put together something on your own for a much lower rate. Overall, this program is very expensive and takes a toll on your budget. Therefore we do not recommend this one either.
