What is Glutamine?

Glutamine has no muscle-building effects whatsoever. Glutamine makes up 2/3rd of the amino acids in our body. Glutamine is also a non-essential amino acid and it is produced itself in the body. The most important fact about glutamine is that during the stress, our amino acids are exhausted which can prevent muscle growth.

When to Use Glutamine?

Here are some situations where glutamine supplement will prove useful for the bodybuilder.

  • Glutamine supplementation can prove useful for bodybuilders who decrease their testosterone levels after coming off a cycle improperly. In this situation, muscle breakdown is at its best and in these circumstances even with a quality nutrition plan, you need glutamine.
  • It is useful during a pre-contest training regiment, consists of very low calories and high volumes of exercise, where the protein breakdown is much more likely.
