Candida can be defined as the unicellular microbes seen in small amounts in many areas of human body such as the moth, the genitals, the intestine etc.It a healthy body, these microbes are controlled by the beneficial bacteria or an operational immune system. But this conditions can be wrecked which results in an over growth and forms a root like structure causing damage to the gut mucus membrane, affecting the blood stream resulting in yeast or Candida infection. These mobile microbes reach several parts of the body causing systemic or local yeast infection.
There are many reasons for yeast infection. Few of them are related to the food habits. A right diet plan can prevent it from spreading. You can bring positive results by sticking on to the following dietary plans along with other nutrition and life style practices.
1. Reduce or completely cease the consumption of refined sugar and carbohydrates. Refined sugar sources like molasses and honey and other refine carbohydrates like white flour, white rice, cereals etc supports the flourishment of Candida. To avoid this, use Stevia for sugar and whole grain non-gluten products such as brown rice, buck wheat bread instead of refined carbohydrates.
2. Food with yeast or mold like mushrooms, white vinegar, canned vegetables, dried fruits etc supports the growth of Candida. Avoid such food items.
3. Strengthen your immune system by reducing the use of antibiotics and diary products. Daily intake of garlic checks the recurrent yeast infections.
4. Dairy products and cow’s milk products may cause allergic reactions which causes excess mucus and digestion problems. Since both these are factors affecting yeast infection, they need to be avoided. Replace cow’s milk with goat’s or sheep’s milk.
5. Maintain the optimum acid-alkaline balance in your blood. The best PH range is 7.35 to 7.45.Acidic environment favors Candida growth. Food containing Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, green juices, fresh vegetyables etc is favorable to avoid Candida growth.
6. Studies by Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York proved that the intake of food rich in beta carotene offers protection against yeast infections.
