Posted on January 21, 2010

Question: Can you tell us about background of Muscle Gaining Secrets?
JF: Having been in the fitness industry for nearly 15 years, Muscle Gaining Secrets owned a private training facility in central New Jersey where I trained over 500 sportspersons over a period of ten years.
After being appointed as Head Fitness Advisor for Mens Fitness magazine, Muscle Gaining Secrets monthly column called the HardGainer. Apart from this I write for multiple publications such as Muscle & Fitness Hers, Mens Health, MMA SportsMag and Maximum Fitness, do consulting, training and lecturing and have written four books.
Question: What got Muscle Gaining Secrets into weight training?
JF: Being a slender child, I was faced with many embarrassing moments. A professional wrestler put me on track, although initially I wasted years by the wrong exercise, eventually finding the right way to perfect body building.
Question: What do Muscle Gaining Secrets love about weight training?
JF: The confidence to prove that I have the capability to go the extra mile and the zest to achieve greater success than my training partners keeps me fit mentally, physically and emotionally.
Question: What have been Muscle Gaining Secrets’s adversities?
JF: Belonging to parents who were of less weight, Muscle Gaining Secrets had the worst muscle building genetics. To make it worse, I was struck with tuberculosis that further reduced my size. This adversity gave him the determination to overcome it.
TH: What are the exercises that you favor and do not favor?
JF: Deadlifts, squats, clean and presses, military presses, 1 arm rows, tire flips, car pushes, keg lifts, farmer’s walks are my favorites in that order.
Isolation and machine exercises are my most dreaded workouts. Close to follow are leg extensions workouts, cable flyes, leg curls and concentration curls.
Question: Till date what has been your favorite weight training moment?
JF: It would most definitely be getting favorable feedback on my book Muscle Gaining Secrets. I ventured into this industry to help people, and now with my book, I am able to reach out to thousands of individuals.
Question: What pointers will you give to beginners, intermediate and advanced bodybuilders?
JF: Beginners should start off with fewer repetitions. Sticking to 5 repetitions with body workouts 3 times a week for the first six months will give a better form.
Maintaining a training journal will help beat their previous performance. Carbohydrates / calorie cycling is recommended but high protein intake is not.
Cardiovascular exercise is essential to stay in shape and maintain health.
Individuals advanced in years need to do fewer sets and take time off frequently. However, it is recommended for advanced builders to do higher repetitions like 8-10 more frequently.
Question: Would you like to add anything else?
JF: I would like to thank you for this opportunity to reach out to your readers and hope that they will be benefited by visiting Muscle Gaining Secrets.
