Guarana is a soft core crawling shrub. It is native to the dense rain forest of Venezuela and Amazonial basin of Brazil. The fruits of the Guarana plant are round, small, red to brown colored and contain black colored seeds. Guarana is widely used in these parts of the world as a dietary supplement and as an ingredient of energy drinks. Guarana contains high amount of caffeine, almost four times as much as the coffee beans. As caffeine is highly bitter in taste is its purest form, this elevated amount of caffeine helps to keep off the intruders.
