7 Myths of Fasting

The issue of fasting is a very ancient one and many of the first references to it come from the Bible. There are many benefits given in the Bible for short and longer periods of time of fasting. There are many benefits given in all the religions about fasting from the spiritual point of view. But there are benefits of fasting from health and fitness point of view also. Let’s see some of the myths about fasting.
Fasting is a religious activity.
Not really. You can’t say it’s only a religious activity. Many facts about fasting are included in various health programs and diet plans. It is a very important part of Intermittent Research also.
Fasting can be done in many ways.
It’s not a complete truth. Many people do fasting in the way they like, hoping that it will give some help at least. But that’s not true. Only systematic plan fasting will work as far as health point of view is concerned.
Juice fasting is another way of fasting.
That’s not true at all. If you are taking fruit juices and saying that you are on fasting, you are fooling yourself! If you take excessive natural sugar (which comes from juice), it can cause spike in insulin and with the absence of other foods, you will suffer from unwanted side effects.
Long-term fasting can produce toxins in the body.
Not really. The reason it is said because long term fasting can reduce many vital and necessary nutrients. So in the long term, the associated problems arise due to the body’s inability to fight with the bacteria and germs. That’s the reason why people die from long term fasting.
Political fasting: a workable way to make a point.
This is the worst use of fasting. To do a protracted fast for a political issue is one of the worst ways to make a point.
Fasting is only for medical purposes.
Not really. Because there are many reasons in medical terminology when fasting is recommended to name a few, before any surgery and blood tests. There are also many other useful benefits than medical reasons.
Fasting is too hard.
Not true again. Anyone can easily do a one or two day fast without any problem at all.
Conclusion:
Fasting can be a very useful instrument for your total health with no side effects, if done in correct manner. Just throw out the myths from your mind about the fasting if you have any.
