Symptoms of Celiac Disease - Increasing Danger in Society

When is the last time that your body felt normal? Or, has normal become a recurring series of days where you just don’t feel right? You know, those days where the stomach feels bloated and you just don’t quite trust your bowels enough to feel comfortable. It is probably a case where you pretty much know that you don’t need a doctor or medication yet deep down you know that there is something wrong.

You just may have celiac disease and one big tipoff is symptoms that focus around digestive problems.

The symptoms of gluten intolerance include ones such as mild stomach pain, unusual weight loss, embarrassing and uncomfortable levels of gas, and sometimes a bit of diarrhea. While we all experience these symptoms occasionally the problem becomes suspicious when they seem to be happening a little bit too frequently for us.

Celiac disease symptoms can be very similar to other better-known conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, or even parasitic infections. For people experiencing the above symptoms on a frequent basis it is virtually impossible to know how to respond to make yourself feel better. The great unknown is whether a simple change in diet will help, and if it will help, what kind of changes have to be made or is it a more serious situation demanding a visit to the doctor.

Your response to this problem will probably depend on the severity of symptoms that you are experiencing. Celiac disease is a more common disease in society today than what many people realize simply because they are going undiagnosed. If you suspect that you have celiac disease and the symptoms are not too severe then you might consider going on a gluten free diet, or a reduced gluten diet, and see if the symptoms improve. While you may guess correctly that symptoms have improved in response to the changes in your diet, ultimately it will take a couple of painless tests to confirm your real diagnosis.

The only sure way to clarify Symptoms of Celiac Disease is through lab testing. It is possible to avoid sharing the test results with insurance companies and employers by arranging for private lab testing. The costs are reasonable and answers come forth quickly and confidentially.
