Is Fenphedra an Effective Diet Pill?

Fenphedra is a diet pill marketed mainly at the bodybuilding community, though I personally don’t see why it couldn’t be used just as effectively for someone that’s needing to lose some extra pounds. It’s not for the faint of heart in that it’s heavy on the stimulants — but it’ll most likely get the job done.

Keep in mind that any diet pill solution works best when you combine it with exercise (you’ll have the energy from the pill, you should use it!).

Fenphedra contains some interesting ingredients:

DiCaffeine Malate - this is a special form of caffeine that is supposed to be absorbed more efficiently than normal caffeine. It is undisputed in volumes of research that caffeine increases your metabolic rate (and thus, your calories burned). While I couldn’t find any research specific to DiCaffine Malates superior effectiveness, even if it were only as effective as normal caffeine, it’s a great ingredient to have in Fenphedra.

Chocamine - Chocamine is a patented, proprietary ingredient made up of cocoa extract. In war time, the British army would supplement with cocoa because it was believed to increase their endurance. Many studies have shown that cocoa extract has a stimulative effect–not to the same degree as caffeine, but stimulative nonetheless. Cocoa extract may have been just as effective in Fenphedra. Chocamine keeps a tight lid on what exactly is in their proprietary blend so we have to assume it’s only as effective as cocoa extract.

Phenylethylamine (PEA) - Phenylethylamine is included in Fenphedra because it has a calming effect on the user. It’s sometimes called “The Love Drug” because of this effect. PEA can be found plentifully in chocolate. I was pleased to see Fenphedra offering something to counteract the jitters that would normally accompany such a stimulant-heavy product.

Synephrine - Synephrine was supposed to be the replacement for that popular weight loss ingredient that was banned by the FDA. Studies have shown that it is an extremely effective stimulant, though to put it on the same level as the one that was banned is probably a bit of wishful thinking. Synephrine is effective for weight loss and that’s probably all you need to know.

To summarize, Fenphedra contains a stimulant, a mild stimulant, a relaxant, and another stimulant. Reports that I’ve read (though purely anecdotal) show that Fenphedra is excellent for pre-workout energy and that weight loss occurs quickly at first and then tapers off to slower (healthier) rate. Only time will tell if Fenphedra is everything it claims to be.
