One example of a food that is good for the skin is avocados. They have been found to be very effective when it comes to caring for the outer layer of the dermis. Eating a diet including many healthy foods like fruits and vegetables is also recommended. Watching what you eat has been proven to stop the appearance of stretch marks. Those who eat large amounts of greasy, unhealthy foods will eventually have problems with not only their skin, but with other parts of the body.
The two most important vitamins for your skin are vitamins E and A. Zinc is also important for healthy skin. If you’re not eating properly, there is a good chance that these things are missing from your diet. If these things are missing from your diet, there is a good chance that you will develop stretch marks as a result. When you take all these factors into consideration, it is easy to see why a connection has been made between stretch marks and diet.
Another lifestyle change is exercising regularly. By remaining flexible and active you will also keep your skin healthy, because stretching your body will make your skin both firm and elastic and able to stretch to a substantial degree. Exercise, in balanced amounts, is very good for your skin, because it keeps the muscles firm, and by keeping these muscles firm, the skin will be strong as well. Some may be confused by this, since bodybuilders workout regularly and yet stretch marks are particularly prevalent among them. I will respond to this by saying that many bodybuilders engage in extreme workouts that put tremendous pressure on their skin, so much so that they often develop these red scars.
Hereditary factors also play a part in whether you will develop them. If other members of your family suffer from them you are a strong candidate, particularly during pregnancy, so I would highly recommend that you use a preventative product to lesson your chances of having them develop.
