A lot of people in there late 20’s early 30’s are asking the question how do I get rid of old acne scars? Because they suffered from really bad acne as a teenager. Most of the time the person is left with red pigmentation after the acne has healed which can be very frustrating because it can take years to fade and even then the person will still be left with that dreaded scare.

There are a few ways to prevent scaring. First of all if you still have acne the best thing you can do is try to prevent the acne its self the less acne on your face the less scaring. The scaring will develop as long as there is acne present. So you must try to get rid of your acne. The more you heal your acne when you have got it the better chance of treating the scares after. Or you may not need treatment at all.

There is a number of things you can do to prevent your acne so your not asking this question how do I get rid of old acne scars later in life. I will go through some of the things you can do. First things first you probably already know but I will say it any way because it is very important. Do not pick of squeeze your acne this is one of the main reasons people scar.

You can go to your GP and ask for advice may be he or she will provide antibiotics. A really good antibiotic is called Roaccutane this antibiotic is probably the best on the market and helps 90% of the people that take it get rid of there old acne for life and this drug even takes away some of the scaring because it actually peels your skin. I highly recommend you take a note of this drug and talk to your GP. Please note you can only get Roaccutane from hospitals.

So if you want to know the question to how do I get rid of old acne scars I would defiantly check that drug out. You could also look at some laser treatment. Do a search in your local area on google or look through your local phone book. Laser treatment can be expensive any were from $1,200.00 to $5,000.00 per laser but have a look about you might be able to find some cheaper places. Always check that the company is legitimate before you undergo treatment.
