You have some options here. We’ll star with general skin care. It’s important to know when to treat your skin for dryness as opposed to when to treat it for excessive oil. That may sound like an obvious observation but in truth, so many people overmoisterize when the shouldn’t and oppositely, they continue to pour on acne medication on already dried cracked skin. Here are some guidelines.
If you suffer from body acne, use an antibacterial soap to dry your skin out a bit. The antibacterial soap kills the acne causing bacteria that clogs in your pours. Don’t use the soap for longer than a week. If your skin gets dry and itchy, using a soap like Dove (it contains moisterizing cream) to even out the softness of your skin.
For facial acne, applying “Oatmeal Masks” is a great home remedy for getting rid of acne. It may sound silly but by applying oatmeal to your face for 20 minutes a day, you’ll have beautiful clear skin in about 2 weeks. Make the oatmeal as you normally would but use luke warm water as to not burn yourself. Apply the oatmeal paste to you face and let it settle for 20 minutes. Afterwards, wash off the oatmeal with cold water. The oatmeal absorbs acne bacteria and oil while naturally moisterizing the skin.
Slicing up a lemon and rubbing the lemon slice on your acne is another terrific home remedy for getting rid of acne. The acidity of the lemon juice neutralizes the pimple by normalizing your skin’s pH balance. This is great for spot treatment if you have a breakout the day before a big event, like a party.
