Are You Trying to Lose Weight With Diet Foods?

Over the past 30 years all the diet fads and new diet foods have not helped people to become slim and trim. Just the opposite is happening. Obesity is at record levels and getting worse each year.

Fat-free foods, low-carb foods, low-fat diets, low-carb diets… nothing seems to be working. It seems everyone has a diet theory that looks good on paper, but in reality it doesn’t work for whatever reasons.

Why is this? One reason is that you can’t just eat some low-fat cookies or a low-calorie frozen dinner and expect to lose weight.

We have so much information at our fingertips, yet it doesn’t help. It seems most people become paralyzed with all the different varieties of foods, diets, and programs out there. There is much confusion.

Sometimes people see low-fat desserts or low-carb THAT, assume these are health foods, and think they can eat as much as they want. They might eat so much extra of these new foods that they are worse off than before. Removing some sugar from cookies or cake doesn’t turn them into magic foods.

It’s best to stop thinking of specific foods as being good or bad, with a few exceptions. Don’t pay too much attention to terms like “low fat” or “low calorie.” Instead, focus on the overall nutritional content of the food and what ingredients it contains.

To succeed at losing weight, you need a comprehensive plan to follow. Your weight loss plan should be one you can reasonably follow and that fits your lifestyle, not something that is so strict that you will soon drop out.
